Hello, Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) community!
I am thrilled and tickled pink to share my latest podcast interview with Chris Veasey, an adventurer, non-traditionalist, and author of “Uncivilized”. I say this from the bottom of my heart: WOW! What a breath of fresh air Chris and this epic conversation that I feel so fortunate to have was. His joie de vivre (joy for life), fresh perspective, fearlessness, and sense of adventure was palpable. It felt like we were sitting right next to each other at a European cafe as we unpacked Chris’ story, and rubbed elbows. His energy was just leaping off the Zoom screen. I have no doubt that you will feel as inspired as me when you hear our conversation of how he courageously decided to hike the Appalachian Trail, defy convention, and chart his own course. I even look forward to listening again soon. Chris, I am so proud of you and all you already accomplished at such a young age. Well done! I am so grateful to make your acquaintance, and look forward to meeting you in person one day, which I have no doubt we will do. Keep rocking, and I look forward to your future books as well.
Here is his Bio:
Chris Veasey is an adventurer, non-traditionalist, and a lifelong storyteller. His uncompromising New York core can be found beneath layers of mountain-calmed temperament and reverence for the English language. Always taught to be practical, he gave up trying to make a profession of entertainment soon after college and opted for safe desk jobs and relationships in our nation’s capital. Catching a foul whiff of 30 years old, Mr. Veasey packed his bags and walked away from it all for an entirely impractical hobo epoch.
After a lifetime of normalcy, the liberation taught him that living an unorthodox life is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, this is where his newfound happiness stemmed from. Discovering that there is no direct correlation between playing it safe and contentment is what compelled Chris to write the very book you’ve come across.
The story he tells is one of nonconformity and trust in the universe, written as a hope that you too will be able to find your own “unstuck” self.
Some topics we discuss in this highly interesting, informative, and entertaining interview:
- His journey in realizing he wasn’t cut out for monogamy.
- Challenges with monogamy and cheating.
-
Insights gained about himself during the journey hiking the Appalachian Trail.
-
Privilege and hesitancy in identifying with non-monogamy.
- Concept of orientation vs. choice in relationships.
-
Importance of self-discovery and taking chances.
- Tune in to listen to this fantastic podcast episode!
