Cheers Sexy People!
Hello, Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) community! My heart goes out to you during these challenging times. I hope you are doing your best to keep safe. Sharing inspirational stories of hope, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles are more important than ever. If you are looking for ways to connect with loved ones you are separated from, check out this blog post that I shared recently. On to another inspiring story…
I am so excited to share my latest podcast interview that I released recently with Ian Jenkins, author of “Three Dads and a Baby: Adventures in Modern Parenting”. To say I was moved by Ian’s story is soooo an understatement! It was incredibly difficult not to tear up conducting this interview – for both of us frankly! I was so honored to be able to speak to Ian about his incredible journey to parenthood that he undertook with his two partners – all part of a gay polyamorous “throuple”. It is a true and incredible story of perseverance, heartache, resilience, and most importantly… enduring love. Many of you know that my husband and I had our own infertility journey that led us down the IVF path. Ultimately we decided to admit “defeat” per se, and now we are childless by partial choice. Yet that does not mean I cannot jump up and down for joy for Ian and his family’s tenacity to defy all of the odds in this crazy world we find ourselves in, creating his own modern family of three gay dads and a baby. YES!!!! I LOVE a happy ending, don’t you? I so enjoyed hearing his story and getting to know him – so much so that I’m going to be having him back for a Facebook LIVE interview in my private Loving Without Boundaries Facebook Community on Tuesday, March 9th as well as Tuesday, March 16th at 3pm EST. You need to join our thriving community to watch and participate if you wish. Come join us! Ian! You are so inspiring, an intelligent and engaging speaker, and I am delighted to know you! I can’t wait to speak to you next Tuesday, March 9th, and again on Tuesday, March 16th at 3pm! Let’s do this, amazing human!
Here is his bio:
Dr. Ian Jenkins is the author of “Three Dads and a Baby: Adventures in Modern Parenting“, a debut memoir about his experiences trying to have a baby as part of a polyamorous gay “Throuple.” The three men wanted to have a child, but the road to having a baby took them through embryo adoption, IVF and surrogacy, dealing with lawyers and doctors, enormous medical bills, questions about polyamorous parenting, and legal battles to get all 3 dads listed on the birth certificate (they were the first to do so). The book will be published March 9 and is available for pre-order on Amazon.
Some topics we discuss in this fun, informative, and entertaining interview:
- How a break-up with his first boyfriend paved the way for his choice to be polyamorous.
- What happened after his first date with the guy who became the third in his relationship.
- Why he is not legally married to either of his partners.
- How he and his partners were able to achieve their dream of parenthood.
- Why talking about his book is the best part of having published it.
- Tune in to listen to this fantastic podcast episode!
