Cheers Sexy People!
I am truly honored to share my latest podcast interview with Matt Connolly whom I met at the 2017 Beyond The Love conference, and then again at the Atlanta Poly Weekend 2018 conference. Though Matt is earlier on in his journey of practicing polyamory in his relationships, he has jumped in the pool with both feet first! Matt is quite busy creating and facilitating poly-friendly events in Arizona, and is extremely passionate about supporting his local community, including specifically men’s support groups. Matt loves interfacing and supporting folks in the real-world, getting off-line and face-to-face. This cool dude is super passionate about building supportive communities, including building bridges with friends of those seeking support (who might not be part of the main community). Matt, I am delighted to have you in my circle of influence, my “rolodex”, and as a integral part of our wider community. I highly appreciate the work that you are contributing to our community!
Here is Matt’s bio:
Matt is a member of the Polyamory Leadership Network and a facilitator of the Arizona Chapter of Loving More. As a polyamory community leader, Matt hosts regular meetings on a variety of Poly topics for Arizona’s most active Poly group, Arizona Polyamory Events. He’s currently helping create an alternative relationship men’s support group as well as Arizona’s first conference on ethical non-monogamy, Southwest Love Fest.
Some topics we discuss in this fun, informative, and educational interview:
— The reasons he moved from Kansas City to Phoenix, Arizona.
— Why he is a huge advocate of attending conferences across the country to get a broader perspective and build your consensual non-monogamy community.
— When and how he and his wife started exploring consensual non-monogamy about four years ago, how they first discovered polyamory, and how it feels like an ongoing organic growth.
— The concept of transitioning through and from an intimate partnered relationship to friendship, so it’s important to be open to this evolution in your multiple relationships. He offers some tips and advice from someone who has been in the trenches.
— Matt shares with us some tips and tricks of how he handles when jealousy pops up in his relationships.
— He talks about what some of the biggest rewards of practicing polyamory are for him in his life.
— Why he loves being an organizer and facilitator for local events in Arizona focusing on social, support and educational growth.
— Why be believes experience is the best teacher!
Thank you Matt, for being so awesomely generous with your time; for the awesome advocacy work you do in Arizona and beyond for the polyamorous community; and for sharing your wisdom and insights with us via the podcast interview! It was enlightening, engaging, and so fun! Learn more about the upcoming Southwest Love Fest conference in Tucson, Arizona from March 29th to 31st at swlovefest.com.
