Cheers Sexy People!
Hello, Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) community! As always, I am sending good energy and vibes of hope and love to our amazing community. I believe that sharing inspirational stories of hope, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles are more important than ever. If you are looking for ways to connect with loved ones you may be separated from, check out this blog post for resources and ideas. On to another inspiring story…
I am delighted to share my latest podcast interview with Dr. Leanna Wolfe, the author of her recent work, “177 Lovers and Counting: My Life as a Sex Researcher.” We had a truly exciting and fascinating conversation as I got to know Dr. Leanna Wolfe and her incredible adventures better. I felt much resonance with the path that she took, researching and learning about sexual anthropology, her desire to live her most authentic life, and the sexual adventures that she found herself on. Both of us do not have our own biological children, so that was a topic of our conversation as well. I often think of polyamory and open relationships as another way to build families in a modern world. I appreciate Dr. Leanna’s vast background and perspective having lived through the 1970s sexual revolution and feminist movement, as well as all of her exciting travels throughout the world. Dr. Leanna, thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me about all things sex and sex research related, for your powerful new book, and for your contributions to our broader community.
Here is her Bio:
Dr. Leanna Wolfe’s sex research was spirited by coming of age in the thick of the 1970s sexual revolution and feminist movement in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her curiosities and academic appetites led her to engage in field research in Mexico, Africa, India and Papua New Guinea, earning an MA in Anthropology from the New School for Social Research and a PhD in Sexology from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality. From 1980 to 2018, she worked as a university professor teaching and researching topics ranging from orgasm, multiple partner sexualities and sexual assault. In 2016, she launched “Wise Woman Sex and Relationship Consulting”, providing counseling through her unique lens of Sexual Anthropology. She is also the author of “177 Lovers and Counting: My Life as a Sex Researcher.”
Some topics we discuss in this highly interesting, informative, and entertaining interview:
- Dr. Wolfe’s research project, “Orgasm in America”.
- Writing one’s own sex history.
- The concept of the “cheating triangle”.
- The different approaches people take in relationships; Don’t Ask / Don’t Tell, cheating, or full disclosure.
- Tune in to listen to this fantastic podcast episode!
