Hello, Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) community! As always, I am sending good energy and vibes of hope and love to our amazing community. I believe that sharing inspirational stories of hope, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles are more important than ever. If you are looking for ways to connect with loved ones you may be separated from, check out this blog post for resources and ideas. On to another inspiring story…
I am so delighted to share my latest podcast interview that I released with Rachel Allyn, Ph.D. I had the good fortune to meet Dr. Allyn when we both attended the RelateFest Conference in Miami, FL in March 2022. I really enjoyed getting to know her that weekend, and was excited to learn more about her background as well as hear about her new book, “The Pleasure Is All Yours”. It was a pleasure (pun intended) to spend time with her on the podcast having a fascinating conversation. I remember fondly getting to know her in gorgeous Miami at the first conference I had been to since the pandemic. We were all chomping at the bit to connect, talk to new interesting people, and create magic together. I could feel Rachel’s deep enthusiasm for her work right away. Rachel! I am so dang happy for you that you got this wonderful book out into the world! I have a belief that, “Sex Is Fun and Pleasure Is Good For You!” Keep sharing your message with the world. I am rooting for your success!
Here is her bio:
Rachel Allyn, Ph.D. has been a licensed holistic psychologist for almost 20 years specializing in mind-body medicine, relationships, and intimacy issues. She helps individuals and couples cope with their mood, life transitions, and all types of relationship challenges.
As a certified yoga teacher, Dr. Allyn incorporates the body into her sessions at times, and leads therapeutic mind-body workshops and retreats. She recently released a book called “The Pleasure Is All Yours: Reclaim Your Body’s Bliss and Reignite Your Passion for Life”. The book is based on the same topic as her 2019 TEDx talk focusing on her method of “bodyfulness”, which integrates mindfulness, and movement to release stress stuck in the body, while reclaiming healthy pleasures within a repressed culture. Her motto is “Pleasure to the People!” When she’s not spreading this message, you can find her skiing, surfing, or singing karaoke.
Some topics we discuss in this fun, informative, and entertaining interview:
- The sex positive environment in which she grew up and how that shaped her.
- How her career has evolved as she has brought together numerous healing and body-based modalities.
- Why she decided to write her book “The Pleasure Is All Yours”, who it is for, and how it is organized.
- What she means by “bodyfulness” and why it is important.
- How to cultivate expression over repression.
- Different types of erotic pleasure, reclaiming one’s pleasure, and utilizing masculine and feminine energies.
- Tune in to listen to this fantastic podcast episode!
Thank you Rachel for being so wonderfully generous with your time, and for sharing your life with us via the podcast interview! It was enlightening, interesting, and so fun! You can learn more about Rachel on her website, Instagram, and Facebook. And, I encourage you to read her new book.
