Cheers Sexy People!
Hello there, rock stars! I am delighted to share my latest podcast interview with the amazing, the hilarious, the outrageously interesting Mel Moseley. Mel originally reached out to me via email to express interest in my work and coming on the podcast. I actually drown in email as time goes on (if anyone wants to share insights on taming your email inbox, I’m all ears!). So luckily I had created an auto-responder that Mel received that gave her instructions to join our Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) growing Facebook group community! (details are below if you’d also like to join the party online). Eventually I got around to Mel’s email, checked out her work, laughed my ass off gleefully, and then happily invited her to be on the LWB show. Boy am I glad I did! This show rocks AND Mel and I seem to have so much in common, particularly about our journey to consensual non-monogamy, and even that we are both musicians, singers, and performers not afraid of the stage. I do not share her songwriting ability, so I deeply admire Mel’s creativity and vulnerable sharing with her magnificent songs. Mel, thank you so much for taking the initiative to reach out to me, and share your amazing work! Keep doing it! I hope to see you in Portland in June and maybe even see you perform! Yeah baby!
Here is Mel’s bio from her website:
I’m a theatre artist, musician, writer, storyteller, teacher, marketing professional, and general practitioner of doing my very best to live an authentic life while hoping to inspire others to do the same.
I got my MA in Theatre Arts from the University of Oregon and ran a theatre company in Denver for four years. I worked in marketing and communications for non-profits and study abroad programs in Portland, Irvine and London for many years while I was raising my kid. Now as I enter middle-age, I am ready to go out and explore what I love – travel, performing and teaching!
Most of my work is around exploring sexuality and relationships. I am a bi-sexual, cis-gendered woman and I currently identify as solo-polyamorous. That said, my sexual relationships have been all over the map! From monogamy to relationship anarchy, I’ve been there…
I’m looking forward to what this next stage of my life brings. This has been an interesting ride so far and I’m sure I have no idea what’ll happen next! My guess is, it’ll be fun, terrifying, surprising, lovely and more.
I hope you’re a part of it!
Some topics we discuss in this educational, touching, and fascinating interview:
— Mel shares how she eventually came to solo polyamory via her journey of serial cheating, multiple marriages coupled with the difficulty of being monogamous when being bisexual.
— She describes her current polyamorous (and relatively new) household, living with a man and a woman, whom are both her partners.
— Why Mel believes that “Neither of us can fall in love with someone else” cannot be a rule within a couple structure.
— We have a discussion about how we do not own each other in relationships and we choose each other each day, while also giving freedom to enjoy time with others special folks.
— Mel shares about being a polyamorous mom with a monogamous co-parent, and what that’s like.
— Mel passionately describes how much better she knows herself after her entire journey of being and “coming out” as polyamorous.
— She vulnerably shares some “Bad Mel” moments that she is not proud of during her journey, which partly starts like mine: Someone handed her a copy of “The Ethical Slut.”
— Why Mel believes we all need to state our truth out loud as publicly as possible.
— Treat yourself to listening to some of Mel’s creative, hilarious and fun original music here. I particularly love “Monogamish.”
Thank you Mel, for being so awesomely generous with your time, for your hilarious and highly entertaining work sharing your polyam story on stages across the country, and for sharing your wisdom and insights with us via the podcast interview! It was enlightening, engaging, and so fascinating! Follow her work and adventures at her website at melaniemoseley.com and on Twitter and Instagram @SexologyTheMusical.

UPCOMING POLYAMOROUS-FRIENDLY EVENTS
1) Free LWB Facebook Group for Healthy, Sex Positive, Open Relationships — Ready to explore healthy, deeply connected (and virtually jealousy-free) open relationships? It’s all possible – especially when surrounded by a community of people already doing it. Many in newly open relationships experience roller coaster emotions of jealousy, insecurity, and feel alone on their journey. That’s why I created this free Facebook group where people are coming together to share actionable tips for succeeding in multiple loving relationships, explore deeper love, and find mutual understanding and support. There’s an abundance of rock star information posted in the group daily by our amazing members. We create a safe place to engage that’s fun and thrilling! Click here and request to join our free group!
2) World Domination Summit (WDS) Meetup; Portland, Oregon; Sunday, June 30, 2019, 1:30pm–3pm — Workshop: Jealousy Survival Guide. Jealousy can have an enormous impact on some people, so it is no surprise that people (especially those who practice consensual non-monogamy) think, talk, and write about it quite a bit. Using techniques from her book, “Jealousy Survival Guide”, Kitty Chambliss gives you inspiration and provides tools to gain and practice new skills. This is a comprehensive workshop and step-by-step template for recognizing feelings of jealousy and insecurity as they come up using effective tools for sorting through those emotions, and when, if, and how to bring up challenging or potentially emotionally charged conversations with loved ones. NOTE: You do NOT need to be a WDS attendee to come to this meetup that is being held at the locally famous McMenamins Ringlers Pub. Come join the fun, the adventure, and the celebration of community!
3) Woodhull Sexual Freedom Summit (SFS), Alexandria, Virginia, August 15–18, 2019 — The Sexual Freedom Summit features human rights activists, sexuality educators and researchers, professionals from the legal and medical fields, authors, sexual freedom movement leaders and organizational partners all working toward the time when sexual freedom is fully recognized as a fundamental human right. This Summit is for EVERYONE interested in learning about the issues in the realm of sexual freedom, advancing their current knowledge and in gaining the tools to actually create the change we need to accomplish. I hope to see you there!

See you on the flip side, lovely community! Keep being brave, compassionately vulnerable, and uniquely and authentically you!
Wishing you peace, love and happiness
(and thrilling, fun sex too!)
