Cheers Sexy People!
Hello, Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) community! My team and I are sending good energy and vibes of hope and love to our amazing community as the world continues to slowly open up cautiously. I hope you are doing your best to keep safe and healthy. Sharing inspirational stories of hope, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles are more important than ever. If you are looking for ways to connect with loved ones you are separated from, check out this blog post that I shared recently. On to another inspiring story…
I am really excited to share my latest podcast interview that I released recently with Ashley Robertson, a colleague and friend who I have known for several years. Ashley has been a member of the ever-growing and thriving Loving Without Boundaries Facebook community and I have been so happy to have her participation, love, and insights in our group full of courageous humans like you! I was intrigued by what she is teaching as a sex educator and invited her to be a guest on the podcast. As a result, I very much enjoyed learning more about Ashley’s work and also enjoyed getting to know her better. What a heart-centered leader, mover, and shaker! Ashley! I LOVE your work, your energy, and your enthusiasm for all that you so lovingly do to support our wider community of ALL ages. You are an inspiration!
Here is her bio:
Ashley Robertson identifies as a feminine, ethically non-monogamous, doll. With over a decade of experience in the BDSM scene, she isn’t shy of perverse topics. She is a liberated educator who wishes to share with others the freedom of sexuality without shame. With three teaching degrees, she’s fed up with the idea that learning comes from a constrictive set of standards. Instead, she assumes innate curiosity in all people and crafts workshops and activities that invite introspection. She’s at her happiest when demonstrating consent with youngsters, guiding youth into comfort surrounding condoms, and answering questions about sexuality honestly. She facilitates her own version of the Our Whole Lives curriculum adapting the workshops to fit diverse audiences. This non-coercive, comprehensive approach to sex ed is what we all wished we had in high school.
Some topics we discuss in this fun, informative, and entertaining interview:
- How she came to doing this work, as well as why and how it changed her life in profound ways.
- Why she believes in facilitation versus teaching.
- What are the five Circles of Sexuality and why they are important in determining our needs and wants.
- The way in which one’s values intersect with their sexual health.
- How her Christian upbringing led her to the BDSM community and consent.
- The way in which people can use the Circles of Sexuality to increase and improve communication with their partner(s).
- Tune in to listen to this fantastic podcast episode!
Thank you Ashley for being so wonderfully generous with your time, and for sharing your experiences and insights with us via the podcast interview! It was enlightening, interesting, and so fun! You can learn more about Ashley on her website and social media channels: Facebook, Facebook Group, and Instagram. You can access the Circles of Sexuality worksheet here.
