Cheers Sexy People!
Hello, my lovelies! I’m happy to share my latest podcast interview that I recently released with Phoenix Mandel. I was introduced to Phoenix via a mutual friend and colleague or ours. It took Phoenix and I a bit of time to arrange creating this show together, and then me some time to release it! Thank you all for your collective patience. Phoenix’s message is so bright, positive, and inclusive. I love that! We share a mutual desire for purple and unusual hair colors. Yay! So fun! Phoenix! You are such a bright light, and a rising star! It is an honor to get to know you on your journey as you shoot towards the stars! Yes! The world needs you and your work!
Here is Phoenix’s Bio:
Phoenix Mandel has been a sexuality educator and consultant since 2006, workshopping on sex positivity, kink, ethical non-monogamy, LGBTQ+, and other issues of sexual health. Phoenix has taught classes internationally, and currently resides in Los Angeles. Phoenix has an intersectional approach, with a mission to make sex education more queer.
Some topics we discuss in this fun, informative, and entertaining interview:
— Phoenix shares that they discovered polyamory as a freshman in college, and also didn’t come out as bisexual until they were 19, or gender queer until 2018. They are enjoying a wonderful period of discovery and evolution. Love!
— We discuss Phoenix’s unusual upbringing as well, living on a boat and sailing all around the islands. So cool!
— Some challenges that Phoenix has had to overcome are polyamorously dating a range of genders, and having certain community expectations around that. They explain this further in the interview. Some examples are feeling excluded while working through a painful learning process.
— Some workshops Phoenix has offered are “Polyamory and You”, which covers polyamorous relationship tricks for monogamous folks. Wow, I love that! Disclaimer: Myself and Phoenix think there is nothing wrong with monogamy! It is more about realizing that we all have choices about how to structure our relationships and our lives. Monogamy works for some, but not all folks.
— Phoenix expertly talks about the paradigm shift that they share with clients and students —> How we normally operate from a scarcity model when it comes to relationships. Instead of rigid boxes, we can have soft grey fuzzy areas, all while focusing on the concept that Love Is Unlimited!
— Jealousy is a sweet spot that Phoenix discusses challenging the idea that someone is a “jealous person” versus someone who is simply experiencing some jealous feelings.
— Tune in to listen to this illuminating podcast episode!
