Podcast Interview: Lindsey Ellison, Divorce/Breakup Relationship Coach, Narcissist Expert, “Start Over Find Happiness” Mission

April 19, 2019Leave a commentBy sexyadventurer69

Cheers Sexy People!

LindseyEllisonHappy Friday, rock stars! I am so excited to share my latest podcast interview that I recently released with kickass relationship coach, Lindsey Ellison whom I met at the National Sex Educator’s Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey in December of 2017. Lindsey had attended my presentation that I gave for the first time: “Polyamory In Practice: Understanding Consensual Non-Monogamy” at the NSEC17 conference. Lindsey had come up to me right after my talk and was just glowing with joy and wide-eyed excitement from everything I shared in my talk. I was over the moon to see what an impact my presentation had created in the audience. We became fast friends, exchanging business cards, and vowing to meet up for lunch in the coming weeks once we realized we lived in the same neck of the woods in the Washington, DC vicinity. True to our word, we met for lunch, had incredible conversation, and shortly therafter recorded this amazing, highly informative, and riveting podcast interview. I am honored to share all of this information and resources with you, dear listeners.

I am so delighted to share what Lindsey had to say about my presentation at NSEC17:

“I actually thought you had the best presentation in the entire conference — your slides were awesome and flowed nicely. I’m extremely critical of workshop presentations because I study the craft of them for my own business, so I thought you did great! Your topic is, of course, very interesting and I thought you did a great job giving a great introduction to it — it felt normal and very authentic. ” — Lindsey Ellison

Lindsey! Oh my goodness, I am so glad that we met, and got to know each other and our respective work more. I am so grateful that you not only are rocking your life and your business, but that you are making such a huge impact in the world helping create empowered, healthy relationships for others. Way to go!

Some topics we discuss in this lovely, educational, and fascinating interview:

— Lindsey”s 7-8 journey of self-discovery from depression to eventual happiness while navigating a divorce and the aftermath.
— How her writing, podcasting, blogging lead her to becoming a contributor with Huffington Post and eventually to becoming a relationship coach.
— How Lindsey truly believes in really honoring your truth, and how that feels like a “coming out” process.
— The process of discovering that in her first marriage, she was suffering from narcissist abuse.
— Lindsey’s sexual growth from having periods of no desire in all for sex to a sexual awakening.
— How the book “Sex At Dawn” blew her mind and helped changed the trajectory of her life.
— True Confessions: Lindsey reveals how so many aspects of living the “supposed to be” life felt just AWFUL to her. She hated it! We discuss how she broke free from the cookie cutter life, giving herself permission to not live such a “cycled” life.
— The moment when she first discovered the term “narcissism” and how much that blew her mind – including discovering that her father was even on the narcissist spectrum. She describes how we can be in a co-dependent dance with a narcissist, thus you become an enabler of the toxic relationship by allowing that dance to continue. When you are a victim of anything, you have zero control and we give up our power. Boundaries are paramount, and there need to be consequences when someone violates our boundaries. Create a new narrative in your head called “That’s not OK.” Yes, Lindsey!
— How the book “The Human Magnet Syndrome: Why We Love People Who Hurt Us” by Ross Rosenberg was a powerful piece of work that inspired her to create her course “Break Free From Your Narcissist.”

Thank you Lindsey, for being so awesomely generous with your time; for your passion in serving folks who are struggling to break free and find passionate, healthy relationships; and for sharing your wisdom and insights with us via the podcast interview! It was enlightening, engaging, and so fun! Follow her work and adventures at her website at LindseyEllison.com, on Twitter @startovercoach, and on iTunes @StartOverFindHappiness.
