Hello, Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) community!
I am very excited to share my latest podcast interview with C.L. Aaron, a non-monogamous co-author of “The No-Bullshit Guide to Ethical Non-Monogamy: The Curious, the Cautious, and the Currently In It”, and former educator. Can I just tell you that this recent book on ethical non-monogamy (ENM) is so refreshing, honest, and wicket smart – written by a couple (C.L. and D.L. writing under pseudonyms so that they can protect their privacy while authentically sharing their experience and insights) is so refreshing, sincere, and real?! This brief write-up sums up their writing style and background beautifully:
“C.L. Aaron and D.J. Aaron are the writing partners and founding members of C.L. Aaron Publishing. Writing under pseudonyms to maintain professional privacy, they unite deep experience from the fields of psychology, law, and education. Their work is driven by a commitment to creating books that are honest, clear, and immediately applicable — distilling complex topics into actionable guidance without the fluff.”
Thankfully, there is a growing amount of resources available for the newly (as well as curious or lifelong learner) ENM person(s) to reach out for. Yet this piece of work is worth adding to your collection and collective wisdom. C.L. and D.L., thank you for putting yourselves out there sharing your ENM experience, for your diligent work in putting this book together, and for gracing us with your hard-earned wisdom that drives right into the heart of what it’s like to practice ENM in real-time while building a family that works for YOU.
Here is his Bio:
C.L. Aaron is co-author of “The No-Bullshit Guide to Ethical Non-Monogamy” (2025), a practical toolkit for ENM from a married couple’s lived experience. With backgrounds in law, psychology, and education, C.L. shares unflinching tools for jealousy, boundaries, and ethical traps.
Some topics we discuss in this highly interesting, informative, and thought-provoking interview:
-
How honest communication and valuing their shared history helped navigate the initial reaction of opening their marriage.
-
Expanding boundaries through non-monogamy experiences.
-
How exploration brought mixed feelings but ultimately fostered excitement and connection.
-
The importance of not rushing into new partners to allow healing and reflection.
-
Managing family dynamics became a priority after one of their three children discovered their lifestyle.
-
Frustration with oversimplified advice and the prevalence of unethical behaviors in non-monogamy.
-
Emphasis on creating shared language and realistic expectations rather than rigid rules or ideals.
-
