Hello, Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) community!
I am thrilled as well as deeply touched to be able to share my latest podcast interview with Holly, a member of our Loving Without Boundaries private online Facebook community, children’s performing artist and educator, and mother of an untraditional family structure. You see, I met Holly via her comments on my “Photo Friday” posts in my growing private online community, where I share photos of my own polycule (polyamorous intimate network). In my case, we live in a nesting V Triad, with me as what’s called the pivot partner (meaning my two partners are not intimate or romantically involved with one another). Interestingly enough, also my husband and I were not able to have our own biological children. Sadly, we found out that we had fertility struggles, and also our multiple (and expensive out-of-of-pocket) IVF attempts failed. This is one of the reasons that I have passionately stated that for me, polyamory can be a vehicle to create modern families in today’s world. I so deeply honor what Holly has created, the painful struggles she endured through her miscarriages along the way, the invisible grief that goes along with that loss that many do not understand, and her courage in forging forward a new and rather unusual path of family creation. Holly, thank you so very much for saying “yes” to have a vulnerable and heartfelt conversation with me, and for being a part of our growing community and mission. I am sending love and light to you and yours, and even hope that we get to meet in person someday. You are a marvel, and a delight to speak to, and a huge light in this world. Keep shining your lighthouse of hope, bravery, tenacity, and resilience!
Here is her Bio:
Holly is a children’s performing artist and educator who is passionate about families of all shapes and sizes. Over the past ten years, she’s become a mother through years of fertility treatments, and is still coping with the loss of seven miscarriages along the way. Through it all, her husband, “bonus hubby,” and support system has been there. She and her partners are now raising their living children and supporting each other as they work towards furthering their careers and learning to navigate an alternative family structure in the conservative south. While she is currently the Stay-at-Home Parent, in her free time, Holly still performs onstage and in classrooms. She’s also a passionate advocate for reproductive rights and education, infertility/pregnancy loss awareness, and creating parental rights for non-biological family structures.
Some topics we discuss in this highly interesting, informative, and entertaining interview:
-
Struggles with traditional monogamy expectations.
- Advocating for reproductive rights, infertility awareness, and non-biological family structures.
-
Importance of therapy and community support.
- Challenges with contraception and fertility.
-
Encouraging openness about fertility struggles and non-traditional families.
- Balancing career and openness about lifestyle.
- Tune in to listen to this fantastic podcast episode!
