Cheers Sexy People!
Hello, Loving Without Boundaries (LWB) community! My team and I are sending good energy and vibes of hope and love to our amazing community as the world continues to open up post-pandemic. I hope you are doing your best to keep safe and healthy. Sharing inspirational stories of hope, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles are more important than ever. If you are looking for ways to connect with loved ones you may be separated from, check out this blog post that I shared recently. On to another inspiring story…
I am so delighted to share my latest podcast interview that I released with Dana Robert Hicks. He reached out to me several months ago, and I was very interested in meeting him, especially since we share a background growing up in religious households. Moreover, I found it fascinating to see his progressive take on marriage given his religious upbringing and former career as a pastor. I am absolutely thrilled to see so many new books and resources being shared recently by intelligent, heart-centered, and thoughtful people like Dr. Dana Robert Hicks. When I was starting this journey 20 years ago, resources like this didn’t exist yet. We only had a small handful of books, and very few websites on the subject. Now, with contributions like this amazing book – that centers religion and modern relationships as it overlaps with marriage – we have so much more hope for building family systems that work for today’s changing world. Dr. Dana! I am so grateful for you, your hard work, your wisdom that you are generously sharing, and for your courage in using your voice. I look forward to meeting you in person, hopefully as I travel to Phoenix for Southwest Love Fest (see below if anyone would like to join me).
Here is Dr. Dana’s bio:
Before retiring from the clergy, Dr. Dana Robert Hicks was a pastor, professor, and organizational consultant for over 30 years. He is an Amazon best-selling author and has contributed to many books and articles that revolve around the themes of culture, Christianity, and organizational change.
Some topics we discuss in this fun, informative, and entertaining interview:
- His book “The Knot: How to Secure Healthy, Modern Relationships While Not Being Tied to Marriage’s Past”, why he wrote it, what has been rewarding about it, and who the book is for.
- Why his 30 years as a pastor made him rethink marriage.
- How it is possible to be both polyamorous and religious?
- His perspective on our sexual expression as humans.
- The importance of communication and truth.
- The future of the church with regard to social norms.
- Tune in to listen to this fantastic podcast episode!
Thank you Dana for being so wonderfully generous with your time, and for sharing your life with us via the podcast interview! It was enlightening, interesting, and so fun! You can learn more about Dana on his personal website, Twitter, and Facebook.
