Cheers Sexy People!
Well we did it, gang! We made it to 100 EPISODES! I want to thank my partners, my fur babies who give me love while I’m conducting interviews, and, and… I’m joking around. Who do I want to thank here? I want honor and celebrate every single person that I have interviewed, and every single listener who ever tuned in to this podcast, and of course our patrons. More on that in a minute. Let’s talk about Episode #100!
I am thrilled to share my latest podcast interview with the witty, the fascinating, the infamous Franklin Veaux. Many of our readers here know who Franklin is partly by his popular co-authored book “More Than Two” and also his memoir “The Game Changer.” Some of you may even know from his numerous Facebook posts that he recently has been specializing in creating tentacle sex toys! This guy will stop at nothing to create magic in the world in his own way! I was so delighted to meet him in person finally at Beyond The Love 2018. I will admit I was a bit nervous when he sat behind me minutes before I was about to give my Keynote Address. How in the world did I get the honor to deliver the Keynote at this fantastic conference when the infamous Franklin Veaux was also in attendance? No pressure to make the keynote as outstanding as I was able to! Holy moly! In the moment, I let this all help me up my game. Let’s do this! And we did (more on that in a future post). Right after my keynote, I introduced myself to Franklin, got the required selfie, and we ended up chatting with some other fantastic and fun attendees (including my partners) well into the evening. The following day, we all attended Franklin’s presentation as well, which I thoroughly enjoyed. With his many many years of experience in polyamorous relationships, his vulnerability to speak openly about his mistakes, and his hilarious delivery of his own stories of pain and courage, I am delighted to share this epic 100th episode!
As the Loving Without Boundaries podcast reaches this important milestone, it’s a great opportunity to re-state the mission here. The point of the LWB podcast is to share many voices and stories, and to highlight that there is more than one way to create a healthy relationship. It is also to illustrate our shared humanity. To the monogamous folks out there, it’s to help them understand that polyamorous folks are people too – we are not aliens. We also screw up, and we are not “enlightened”, or think we are better than other folks where monogamy may suit them just fine. I’m helping share with folks that they have CHOICE in how to create relationships. I’m doing my level best to champion sexual freedom and relationship equality… all while discussing ways that we can create healthy relationships, and even heal from trauma – past and sometimes present.
Here is Franklin’s Bio:
As a child, Franklin heard a fairy tale about a princess forced to choose between two handsome princes, and thought, “Everyone knows princesses live in castles. And castles are big enough for both princes. So why does she have to choose?” Franklin has been writing about polyamory since 1997. He started his website as a resource for his former self: the Franklin who didn’t know that there were other people like him, had never heard the word polyamory, and who had no idea how to navigate polyamorous relationships. The site has grown over the years, and since 1999 has been one of the Internet’s top destinations for information about polyamory. He speaks and writes about polyamory, BDSM, nontraditional sexuality, and more. In 2011, he moved the site from its old home at xeromag.com to its current home at morethantwo.com. In 2014 he co-authored a book on polyamory by the same name: More Than Two: A practical guide to polyamory. He currently has several long-term partners and lives in Portland, Oregon with one of his partners, while his wife lives in Orlando, Florida.
Some topics we discuss in this juicy, fired-up, and heart-wrenching interview:
— Why Franklin decided to join us at Beyond The Love 2018, why he didn’t get any sleep, and why the experience was bittersweet for him.
— Why Franklin does not believe he (or anyone else) is an expert on polyamory, and consensual non-monogamy.
— Franklin’s thoughts on the book he co-authored – “More Than Two” – and how he may have added more to it if given the chance.
— His thoughts on heartbreak as part of the human condition, and why the feelings can compound upon themselves. His thoughts on how love is not for cowards.
— The concept of “burning our past to the ground” in terms of dealing with lovers from our past.
— His thoughts on how we are born of frailty and error, and how this is part of the human condition, including when dealing with the trauma of breakups.
— We touch on the “cultural construct of monogamy” versus monogamy as an option to build relationships.
— Franklin also shares his love of exploring the creation of proper tentacle sex toys!

THIS IN FROM “CONCERNED LISTENER” COMMENTER: Given how recently the interview was posted, and that the statement about his abuse of former partners was published very soon after that, I think it would be only fair to your listeners to give them that context if they are not aware of it.
